Springfield College Recognizes Dean's List Students for the 2019 Spring Semester.

Each academic term, Holyoke Community College recognizes superior scholarship through the Dean's List. Students are placed on the Dean's List if their G.P.A. is 3.2 or higher. These students have earned Dean's List honors for the Spring 2019 term.

Holyoke Community College is proud to recognize the following students who have completed their graduation requirements for the 2017-2018 academic year. Members of the Class of 2018 received their diplomas or certificates June 2 at HCC's 71st Commencement exercises at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.

Each Spring, Holyoke Community College recognizes students with honors and awards for outstanding achievement and performance in a wide array of academic areas and extracurricular pursuits. These students received awards for the 2018-2019 academic year and were honored at a ceremony on Wed., May 22, in HCC's Leslie Phillips Theater. Congratulations!

American International College (AIC) in Springfield, MA has named 463 students to the Spring 2019 Dean's List. Dean's List students are full time students who have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

American International College awarded more than 600 undergraduate and graduate degrees with students representing 22 states and nine countries at the 134th Commencement on May 11, 2019.

Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. Darren Walker who presides over the Ford Foundation, one of the world's most influential social justice philanthropies and one of the largest private foundations in the United States, delivered the address.

Wofford College conferred 381 degrees on 359 graduates during the 2019 Commencement exercies on Sunday, May 19.

Siena College names students to the Dean's List for the Spring 2019 semester.

635 graduates received a degree during Assumption College's 102nd Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 12, held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, MA.

Colby-Sawyer celebrated its 181st Commencement on Saturday, May 11, awarding approximately 185 undergraduate degrees and recognizing students and other individuals for academic excellence, outstanding contributions to society, and service to the college and community.

The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2018. Students who received the honor of summa cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64. Students are only graduated after the Registrar's Office has certified that all degree requirements have been successfully completed. Participating in the commencement ceremony is the act of honoring and celebrating academic achievement.

The capstone experience is interdisciplinary and differs for each student. In the capstone each graduating student demonstrates his or her knowledge by effectively communicating that knowledge to others during the Susan Colby Colgate Scholars' Symposium.

The Holyoke Community College Foundation awards nearly $250,000 in scholarships each year to new, current and transferring students. These scholarships have been made possible through the generosity of alumni, friends, faculty, trustees and community-minded corporations. Congratulations to this year's 231 recipients, a new HCC record!

Holyoke Community College is proud to recognize the students who appeared on stage in HCC's Spring 2019 theater production, "Ugly Lies the Bone," as well as those who worked behind the scenes in technical and production positions. The HCC Theater Department presented the Lindsey Ferrentino's play about a disabled soldier April 25-27 in the Leslie Phillips Theater in HCC's Fine & Performing Arts Building. The play was directed by Tim Cochran with stage design by Matthew Whiton.

Holyoke Community College is proud to announce the newest members of the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Thirty-seven HCC students were honored during an induction ceremony on Thursday, March 21, 2019. This special event recognizes students who have demonstrated academic achievement according to the Phi Theta Kappa standards. Students are invited to join Phi Theta Kappa when they have completed 15 college credits with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Western New England University is please to welcome over 100 February graduates as alumni on February 15, 2019. Congratulations, graduates!

Georgia Southern University recently recognized approximately 3,300 students for excellence in academics on the Fall 2018 Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

As the fall semester draws to a college, HCC would like to recognize all those who served this semester as student senators. The Student Senate represents the voice of the students to the administration of the college. It provides and promotes a partnership in governance among all segments of the college community to ensure the welfare of HCC as an institution and the student body as a whole. Throughout the year, the senate plans and participates in activities and events that contribute to the college and the surrounding community.

The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced that 26 student-athletes have been named to the 2018-19 Assumption College Women's Swimming and Diving team.

The theme of Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In the Heights" is home, and home is where theater professor and director Patricia Sandoval '84 found inspiration for the HCC production of the Tony Award-winning musical, which opens Thurs., Nov. 8. She found it in the rich Latino culture of Holyoke, drawing on the city and nearby communities for a cast ranging from local high schoolers to HCC students, staff and alumni to community members and professional dancers. Congratulations to these HCC students - and everyone else - who earned a stage role in this marvelous musical.

President Susan D. Stuebner has declared November 28, 2018 as Resident Assistant Appreciation Day at Colby-Sawyer College, in recognition of the outstanding work that Resident Assistants do to support all students, develop communities based on individual responsibility and respect for others, and provide opportunities for student learning.
