Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. University of New Hampshire Announces May 2019 Graduates
The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2018. Students who received the honor of summa cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64. Students are only graduated after the Registrar's Office has certified that all degree requirements have been successfully completed. Participating in the commencement ceremony is the act of honoring and celebrating academic achievement.

The capstone experience is interdisciplinary and differs for each student. In the capstone each graduating student demonstrates his or her knowledge by effectively communicating that knowledge to others during the Susan Colby Colgate Scholars' Symposium.

'Ugly Lies the Bone' cast and crew
Holyoke Community College is proud to recognize the students who appeared on stage in HCC's Spring 2019 theater production, "Ugly Lies the Bone," as well as those who worked behind the scenes in technical and production positions. The HCC Theater Department presented the Lindsey Ferrentino's play about a disabled soldier April 25-27 in the Leslie Phillips Theater in HCC's Fine & Performing Arts Building. The play was directed by Tim Cochran with stage design by Matthew Whiton.

HCC honors Phi Theta Kappa inductees
Holyoke Community College is proud to announce the newest members of the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Thirty-seven HCC students were honored during an induction ceremony on Thursday, March 21, 2019. This special event recognizes students who have demonstrated academic achievement according to the Phi Theta Kappa standards. Students are invited to join Phi Theta Kappa when they have completed 15 college credits with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

At home 'In the Heights'
The theme of Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In the Heights" is home, and home is where theater professor and director Patricia Sandoval '84 found inspiration for the HCC production of the Tony Award-winning musical, which opens Thurs., Nov. 8. She found it in the rich Latino culture of Holyoke, drawing on the city and nearby communities for a cast ranging from local high schoolers to HCC students, staff and alumni to community members and professional dancers. Congratulations to these HCC students - and everyone else - who earned a stage role in this marvelous musical.
